- Owens Corning 703 1 inch rigid fiberglass board is an acoustic sound dampening material often used in bass trap and sound absorber designs. The sound deadening and thermal properties make it useful in DIY projects, soundproofing a room, creating acoustic panels at home, decorative sound absorbing wall panels, HVAC ductwork, mechanical equipment, and more. It offers high-abuse resistance and good, finished appearance. This fiberglass provides professional studio quality noise dampening. This popular insulation is very effective, and has an NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) rating of 0.70 out of 1, which can be elevated when combined with other acoustical products, such as acoustic fabric, to create a highly sound absorbent panel. This insulation is ASTM E84 Fire Rated Class 1 or Class A and is certified to contain average 53% recycled content.
