What type of metal are these clips made of?
Answer: They are made of zinc plated A-2 steel. Though our zinc plating is superior quality to most others they will in the long run rust in the right conditions. I do not know of any offsets made of a grade of stainless steel that will not rust. -
Question:
Can I use to hang a heavy 1/4" thick mirror?
Answer: They would work but it would be metal to the mirror, which could be a problem. There are mirror clips that have like a Teflon piece that would be against the mirror front and edge that are for protection. Then it is all about the fasteners that hold the clips. You would want something fairly heavy duty to carry the weight of the mirror. Good luck which ever way you go.
