Valeton Floor Multieffects GP-200LT Editorial Review
The Valeton GP-200 is a multi-effects processor that offers a lot of features for the price, including an expression pedal, FX loop, MIDI IO, amp modeling, IR cabinets, and OTG USB audio interface. However, the UI is not intuitive, and it is not easy to balance volume between and within patches, which can be deafening when certain effects are engaged. It also lacks the ability to set up two instances of the same effect in a single patch, so there is no gain stacking or multiple delay effects running at the same time. The parameters on some of the effects are limited, and it is not true bypass when all of the effects are off. The GP-200L model has a Looper that doesn't work properly, and the manual lacks depth and detail. The noise floor of the unit is really high, and the ambient noise is loud, even in performance. The menu is easy to learn but lacks depth and offers very few options. However, the built-in tones and effects, along with the recording interface, are good, and it works well with other pedals as well. Overall, the GP-200 can work well for home studio use, but it may not be gig-ready.
