What is the piece sticking out of the side used for?
Answer: This doesn’t have anything sticking out like the picture shows. -

I noticed that the inside hole is larger than the other side does it matter what direction the airflow is going?
Answer: I have used these for a while and there is no difference which direction you use them. -

Will this fit to connect oxygen tubing (coming from the tank directly) that is 3/16 id and 5/16 od?
Answer: It fits standard oxygen cannula s and connection tubing. I don’t know about the sizes you mentioned. Usually, tubing follows a universal fitting system. -

What is the maximum lpm and psi for this connector? Will it support two oxygen concentrators that output 10 lpm and 20 psi each?
Answer: I have no clue what you are talking about. I just bought it because my mom’s oxygen cord tangles up all the time. With this, it doesn’t so bad. Sorry I couldn’t help you. -

Answer: Yes #0590 it will fit standard hose and cannula. -

Does this connect two pieces of cut tubing or does it connect two tubes that already have female fittings on their ends?
Answer: Tubes that have fitting. -

Answer: Yes just wiggle back and forth to remove.
