Rio Grande Games Board Games RGG615 Editorial Review
**** The Rio Grande Games Concordia: Solitaria Expansion sits as a remarkable enhancement to the beloved Concordia board game, particularly for solo and two-player modes. Gamers appreciate the innovative AI, which not only reacts to players' moves but also introduces a complex layer of strategic depth. Unlike conventional AIs that rely on pre-determined actions or random draws, the Concordia AI leverages players' decisions, leading to a uniquely responsive gaming experience. This aspect keeps players fully engaged as they must anticipate not just their moves but also how those actions guide the AI, creating a game environment where foresight and adaptability are crucial. Many reviews highlight the speed and simplicity of the AI’s operation, further enhancing the overall gaming experience. Players can execute turns efficiently, allowing for fast-paced gameplay without sacrificing depth. The expansion also thoughtfully includes various modes, allowing players to dive into solo, cooperative, or competitive encounters against the AI, ensuring continued replayability. While some may feel that the absence of a solo mode in previous Concordia releases limited its playability, this expansion resolves that concern, potentially increasing the frequency with which the game can be enjoyed. Feedback is overwhelmingly positive, underscoring the expansion's seamless integration and the careful design attention that elevates the game's enjoyment. It stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of Concordia, providing both novice and seasoned players a satisfying venture into strategic play. **
