  • Question: How many leaves should be added to the tank?

    Answer: It is recommended to add 1 Catappa leaf to a 30-gallon tank of water.
  • Question: What species of pets can benefit from these leaves?

    Answer: The leaves are particularly beneficial for betta fish, but can also be used for other aquatic pets such as shrimps and certain types of tropical fishes.
  • Question: How do the leaves encourage reproduction in betta fish?

    Answer: The leaves provide a familiar and natural environment for the breeding betta fish, encouraging them to reproduce actively and providing a suitable place to anchor their eggs.
  • Question: Are these ok to put in a small round glass fish bowl? I just have one betta

    Answer: They should be okay. They are LARGE so you may want to trim them a bit. One thing to note, if you are using a bowl you may want to change the water and the leaves more frequently as they may cause a small ammonia increase in an uncycled environment. Don't quote me on that though. Just an observation in my experience. I use them in all of my large community tanks as well as my Betta tanks (both 4.5 gallon). Good luck!
  • Question: Why should I get this?

    Answer: It's natural connections between them. It's good for fish skin and scales healthier. For hiding or resting. For breeding.
  • Question: Are these Indian Almond Leaves?

    Answer: Yes I believe they are. However, they are very big I had to cut them in Quarters for 5-gallon tanks.
  • Question: How do you have to prepare the leaf before putting it into the aquarium?

    Answer: I just rinse it off well with tap water and place it in the tank. It will eventually sink. I like to take it out when it starts to look ragged, but you can let it break down too.
  • Question: What type of sterilization do you use? Is it natural or do you use a chemical?

    Answer: Natural. I dip them in boiling water and put it straight into the tank after.
  • Question: Will it kill my beneficial bacteria in my filter since it's supposed to be antibacterial? My tank just cycled, and I don't want them to die.

    Answer: I have been using this product for some time with no bad side effects pertaining to the loss of beneficial bacteria. The only way these leaves could cause you a problem is if you would allow them to totally decompose in your aquarium.
  • Question: Anyone have clear instructions on how to prepare and use them?

    Answer: I have been using them for a while now. I have a 2-gallon tank. Literally all I do after I change the water weekly is clip a little piece off the leaf and put it in the tank. I don't boil. I don't rinse. I put it in. My betta fish is thriving and happy. Simple.
  • Question: What kind of leaves are these?

    Answer: If you read the description, you'll see that they're called 'Cattapa Leaves'.
  • Question: What's the difference between this kind of leaf and any other leaf, won't a regular oak leaf work the same?

    Answer: I have heard that you can use oak leaves. Honestly, I don't really know what the difference would be. You would still get the tannin from the leaf, which is the whole idea anyway.
  • Question: Are the 2” cut into shape or it's their natural size?

    Answer: Sizes may vary since they are all-natural leaves.
