Answer: It is aluminum alloy so will work fine in saltwater though only the 7/8 size has a large enough arbor to hold 100 yards of backing and an 8 weight line. I wouldn’t use it for serious flats fishing, but fir stripers, snook, small redfish, smaller bonefish and baby tarpon- perfect. Still need to rinse it well after fishing and store with the drag backed off. It’s good value for the money. -
