Answer: It's designed to physically support an aftermarket head unit. There was no 'din' standard used in these trucks. -

Will this work in my 1987 silverado and GMC Sierra classic?
Answer: Yes, it should work in both trucks as well as 88 Blazer 3+3 square body trucks. -

Can a double din head unit be installed with this kit?
Answer: No, it's designed to fit single din head units only in a C10/20/30 1974-87 GM truck/blazer. -
Question:
Does this kit include the DIN sleeve?
Answer: No, the DIN sleeve would come with the radio. -
Question:
How does the new head unit mount in?
Answer: It's tricky as there are three pieces. Two pieces use screws, and the third uses the cage of the radio to hold it in place. The tabs of the radio cage bend to hold the head unit in place unless a factory-style knob is used. -

Does this kit have a metal backing plate or plastic?
Answer: The kit received in June of 2015 had a metal back plate and plastic trim piece.
