The Canon battery grip that doubles battery life for CPS SL2 is a great purchase with mixed reviews. It fits well and increases battery life. Although there is a small rubber that needs to be pulled out to make space for the cord, it is not clear which battery is drained due to the third-party batteries being used. Users appreciate that it has a tripod mount on the bottom and works with the off-brand batteries too. It gives the camera a more substantial feel and is nicely priced. However, there are certain issues that include the shutter button being in the wrong spot, two wires being outside of the grip, and the need for a 2.5mm Shutter Release Cable for the shutter button to work with the grip on the SL3. Furthermore, there are issues with the build quality of the grip and the bump on the handle of the grip. The battery placement is inconvenient, and it is not worth its $50 price tag in terms of quality for some users.
