Answer: It should fit in to your 2001 lariat perfectly it fit on mine as for the Kenwood it should also fit in there as long as it says (single din ,) -

Answer: I say it fits, my Ford is a 2001 Ford Explorer Sports Trac. I didn't expect it to fit but it did. Sorry for the confusion. -
