How long does it take the valve to close when activated?
Answer: For me about 5-10 seconds. -

Can you buy a replacement valve without the rest of the kit?
Answer: Yes. There are options to buy the valve only. -

Will this unit work a second time (if it detects a leak which is fixed, will it detect any subsequent leak)?
Answer: Yes. Thoroughly dry the sensor and reset the valve to on. -
Question:
Can you get a longer wire to connect valve to module?
Answer: I believe you can from the manufacturer. If not you could also hire an electrician to extend it. -
Question:
Do the contacts operate only on leak alarm or when you close the valve or open it manually?
Answer: Does not matter how the Unit is told to close. If it closes the aux contact changes stat. -
Question:
Must additional sensors be daisy chained or can they be run back to the controller? I have locations that need sensors on opposite sides of the house.
Answer: I’m not real savvy with these things as they were installed for me. I believe you need a separate controller for each one. -

Does the sensor come with this and low voltage plug?
Answer: Yes. -
Question:
Can I disconnect the unit from the valve without causing the valve to shut off the water?
Answer: Yes, you push up on the metal clip at the base of the plastic unit that attaches to the valve. You can then pull that unit straight off to detach it from the valve. The position of the valve does not change. -
Question:
Is this product lead free?
Answer: It is lead-free as indicated by the LF in the product number. -
Question:
How loud is the alarm?
Answer: The alarm is not very loud. I doubt you could hear it if you were in another room from the hot water heater. I was actually hoping that the alarm would be louder, but the controller is in a very small box which doesn't have room for a large speaker or buzzer.
