Basic Korean Dictionary Korean-English/English-Korean

Basic Korean Dictionary The Basic Korean Dictionary is an ideal tool for beginners looking to learn the Korean language. However, it may not be suitable for intermediate or advanced learners due to a lack of depth in its content. The dictionary has been criticized for its heavy focus on English words with Korean translations added on, making it feel more like an English dictionary with Korean decorations. One major drawback of this dictionary is the use of Romanized words on the Korean to English side. These Romanized words are larger and appear before the actual Hangul word, which can be off-putting for some users. Additionally, the Korean to English side is not organized in Korean alphabetical order, further adding to the frustration. On the positive side, the Basic Korean Dictionary does include a helpful appendix with 20 pages of Korean idioms and proverbs, as well as a brief overview of Korean verbs. This appendix has been praised as a valuable addition to the dictionary, especially for Koreans living in the U.S. Customers have also expressed their love for this dictionary, particularly those who are beginners or have limited access to Korean learning materials. It has been described as easy to understand and navigate, making it useful for those learning the language for the first time. The dictionary's small and compact size has made it a convenient companion for travelers heading to Korea. However, some customers have found the dictionary to be too small for reference purposes. Additionally, the use of Romanized words has made it difficult for certain words to be found. Those who prefer electronic versions or larger dictionaries have opted for alternative options. Overall, the Basic Korean Dictionary is a valuable tool for beginners looking to learn the basics of the Korean language. Its easy-to-use format and helpful appendix make it a good choice for those starting their language-learning journey. However, it may not be suitable for intermediate or advanced learners seeking more comprehensive content.
