Answer: Solid black to black, the two striped wires go together green to green so you only have one wire left. Two plugs are male and two are female so it makes it a little easier to determine where they go. -

Will this work for a 88 model?
Answer: Take your chance. It said it would work on my 97 but the switch was wired wrong. After two switches, which were inexpensive and not worth sending back, I finally ended up wiring a toggle switch instead.
