    Answer: The purchase includes only the knife blade blank; the handle must be made separately.
  • Question: What materials are used in the blade?

    Answer: The blade is crafted from 66 layers of Japanese Damascus steel with a VG – 10 steel core.
  • Question: How sharp is the blade?

    Answer: The blade maintains an extremely sharp edge due to its high-quality materials and craftsmanship.
  • Question: Is the blade marked?

    Answer: Yes. It has a laser printed logo. I'm sure you could remove it if you wanted.
  • Question: Are there holes for pins? If not, can you drill through the steel to make pin holes?

    Answer: The holes are in the blank. IIRC the are 1/4 inch holes.
  • Question: Does the chef's knife come in a black box?

    Answer: Yes, the chef's knife comes in a nice black box like some of the others, including the rivets you will need.
  • Question: Does the blade come sharpened or does it need honing?

    Answer: Yes it comes sharp. I tape the blade while working on the handle. When I am done with one I typically touch up the hone before presentation.
  • Question: What size are the rivets that come with the knife?

    Answer: The female half measures 1/8 wide, o/d and 3/8 long from the underside of the head.
  • Question: Does the blade come with pins for the handle blanks to be attached?

    Answer: yes, but contact cement works well too
  • Question: Does it come with handle material?

    Answer: This does not come with scales. You must purchase/make the scales for the handle separately.
  • Question: Is this knife full convex grind or hollow ground?

    Answer: Pretty straight.
