Question:
My old filter had a removable ring around it - this filter is too large for the ring. Is this the wrong filter, or does it not need the ring?
Answer: My filters (even other brands) never had a ring. You do not use a ring or collar on this filter for my 2006 HD dura max. It is a snug fit on its own. You must push it in far enough to push down and get it below beside the notch on the bottom that helps keep it in place. -
Question:
Why won’t it fit? It’s too small for my 2010 Chevrolet 2500 hd. Old filter is slightly bigger in diameter but shorter in length.
Answer: Make sure you have the old black seal removed from the housing. -
Question:
Have any of you experienced white flakes coming out of the new filter? Just had one delivered and it looks like it has dandruff - normal?
Answer: There were no white flakes in it when I got it. I can tell you that if you had trouble with the engine light coming on, it was the cure for it as when we got it, it had a Kand N filter in it and it just wouldn't stay where it was supposed to.
