Answer: The Flex-a-lite is powered by the battery, while your current fan/belt are powered by the engine. The current fan will get removed, along with the belt needing to turn it. Flex-a-lite gets installed, and connected to battery. I also added extra switch so I can control when fan is on or off. -

Is there a warranty?
Answer: Not sure explicitly, but Flex a lite did accept mine after it did not cool sufficiently when towing/driving mountain back roads for a full refund after some troubleshooting. -

Do I need to replace the fan pulley to an idler pulley?
Answer: No, fan and clutch come off all together. Pulley stays on. No removal of pulley not needed. -

How does this product mount?
Answer: The fan is held in the bottom with the original fan housing mount. A well thought out product. -

Does this wire into the OEM plug?
Answer: No, it does not wire into a plug. Does not cool as they claim and the fan motors are not variable as they claim! -

Are these fans variable speeds?
Answer: They are not variable speed as delivered, they do offer an optional controller that allows you vary the speed of the fan. -
Question:
Does this require additional wiring? I see that a switch is included, is it a thermo switch or manual operation?
Answer: No, this fan does not require any additional wiring. It is thermostatically controlled through a temperature probe that inserts between the fins in your radiator core. This kit does not include a manual switch though.
Flex-a-lite Fans Editorial Review
The Flex-a-lite 264 '03-'08 Dodge Diesel Fan is a well-made and easy to install fan that effectively cools the truck, especially in hot weather. It comes with most of the necessary parts, but some customers had to replace the upper mounting bolts. The instructions for the initial test were not very clear, but once adjusted, the fan worked well. However, some customers found that the fan did not cool sufficiently when towing heavy trailers. It does not require any additional wiring and is thermostatically controlled. Overall, it is a good alternative to the stock fan for normal driving conditions.
